m black is a prairie-born, white-settler artist and writer based in mi’kma’ki (atlantic canada). they hold a BFA in expanded media from nscad university.
their practice combines digital, analog, and camera-less image-making processes alongside installation, performance, and text to interrogate, complicate, and pervert systems of power. in their abstracted forms and sculptural ephemera is a through line of inquiry into how the domains of gender and sexuality have been—and continue to be—negotiated, regulated, and (re)produced across time and place.
